In Service Exchange (currently using version 2.3.29) on a Provider instance, from a Foundation Data Provider Outbound Offering Item [sn_fds_pro_offering_item] record, if I am using a dynamic filter (or alternatively a javascript qualifier) in a condition, how can I get the reference to the associated Consumer connection [sn_sb_pro_consumer_connection] record being used?
We are trying to configure the condition to allow the CSM Account hierarchy to propagate through the Service Exchange connection.
Example:
A CSM account hierarchy is setup in the Provider Instance like the following:
Boxeo
└── Boxeo USA
└── Boxeo EMEA
├── Boxeo France
└── Boxeo Germany
In this case, the Consumer is Boxeo and they want to be able to receive Cases and FDS data (CI's) for records associated to their account/company as well as any child account/company under them in the CSM account hierarchy (as they are able to see Out-of-Box if they log into the Provider instance).
Right now, I was attempting to address the FDS hierarchy by building a dynamic filter (to use on the Foundation Data Provider Outbound Offering Item [sn_fds_pro_offering_item]) that would return the Consumer account/company and any child account/company in the hierarchy:
However, I am struggling to determine how to obtain the associated Consumer connection record [sn_sb_pro_consumer_connection] for the "Service Exchange Consumer Hierarchy" dynamic filter so I can then get the associated CSM account hierarchy records.
How is the "AccountSecure" check box obtaining the associated Company value from the Consumer connection?
Otherwise, I am open to any alternative solution to achieve the same goal.
=================
As a worst case alternative, I could build a unique Foundation Data Provider Outbound Offering Item for each Consumer connection against their Company value, including multiple levels in the condition:

The only thing I can provide about multi-company support is that it will allow associated multiple companies to a single connection. Both the provider and consumer will need to be on the Service Exchange release the feature is released on or later.
As far as the solution you mentioned, I think it would work but it could also run into more maintenance by maintaining the same Offerings per hierarchy. Updating an Offering would mean updating many Offerings. Just have to weigh the options and see what works best for your given situation.

What are you trying to accomplish?
There isn't a specific connection an Offering Item is associated with.
- An Offering Item is associated with an Offering.
- An Offering has a consumer criteria
- So, the Offering can be associated to all or many connections based on the consumer criteria
So you could look at the consumer criteria associated an offering and test all connections to get the consumer connections. I have no idea how this would help.
On a consumer connection there is a related list of FDS Offerings the is a Defined Related List/Relationship [sys_relationship] named FDS Offerings. This has a script which defines what FDS Offerings show up in the related list. I don't think this will help in this situation.
This might be the actual answer. Subscription Items have a filter to limit what records are synced. The initial filter comes from the Offering Item. The Offering Item is directly related to a company and consumer connection. What ever filter you wanted to apply dynamically can be applied here.

Multi-Company over single consumer connection is on the roadmap to be in the November 26 release. That isn't a guarantee but we are currently working on it. You will be able to associate multi-companies to a single connection which when using account secure would send all of the data for those companies associated to the connection. For this reason I would go with the manual method below for now.
Two methods that I would use to handle this and both are really the same except one way is manual and doesn't require customization.
Manual No Customization
- Create FDS Offering with Auto Acknowledge false so that the Subscription Item Condition can be modified before the sample data gets sent.
- Set account secure to true for the Offering Item, the Subscription Item condition will automatically include the company on the consumer connection example Boxeo. Manually update the condition to include Boxeo USA, Boxeo EMEA, etc.
- Then Acknowledge the request and send sample data.
Automated Customization
- Create a before insert business rule on Subscription Item table that runs after company is set on the subscription item record. Use the company set on the subscription item to query the account hierarchy and update the condition on the subscription item to include the additional accounts Boxeo USA, Boxeo EMEA, etc before insert.
- Auto Acknowledge on the FDS Offering can be true or false because the condition on the subscription item will be set before it is inserted.
- A true/false field could also be added to the Offering Item table to include the Account Hierarchy. If Account Secure is true then show Include Account Hierarchy field. The business rule on the Subscription Item could look at the related Offering Item and if Include Account Hierarchy is true then query and add account hierarchy to the Subscription Item condition.

I am extremely interested to know what the expectation may be that the "Multi-Company over single consumer connection" solution will include. Please let me know where I may be able to see any details of the planned design or expected enhancements available.
Regarding the manual solution method, I believe the solution that I mentioned in my (updated) original statement would allow new accounts added into the hierarchy to automatically be included rather than having to list each company/account by name in the conditions.
(NOTE: This assumes that both the Parent Account [account_parent] value from the Account [customer_account] table and the Parent [parent] value from the Company [core_company] table are the same values/aligned on the Account records.)
