I agree with your points/description of CSDM and the challenge about, “what is the business case”. 

In my experience people struggle to map the model into how they work, so we need to try to explain how the model/data fits into the work in disciplines in an IT organization.


Example the Orange part “manage technical services” is imo confusing as it combines services and installed components, so the build domain should link to a separate “domain” - f.ex.  “Deployed Systems” and “Technical Services” should only contain IT Services(support, monitoring, app, server, database management etc.).

and lastly I think that Product model data should have a more clear place in the CSDM Model, as this is core meta data, that requires data management.
