so i'm coming from a non-developer background and thinking about taking the ServiceNow CAD exam. i'm excited but also kinda nervous about the whole "technical" part of it. any tips from people who’ve been in the same boat? how did you manage the dev-heavy stuff and what areas should i focus on to bridge the gap? any good resources or study strategies that helped? would love to hear how you guys tackled it!

It's ok if you don’t have a dev background, the CAD exam isn’t just about coding, it’s more about understanding how to build and configure applications in ServiceNow. While scripting knowledge is helpful, the exam focuses more on concepts like tables, Flow Designer, UI policies, and security rules. The best way to prepare is to get hands-on in a Personal Developer Instance (PDI) and experiment with different features.
You don’t need to be a JavaScript expert, but understanding Client Scripts, Business Rules, and Script Includes is important. Don’t worry about memorizing every line of code, just focus on recognizing patterns in existing scripts.
Make use of practice tests to get familiar with the question style and identify weak areas. CertBoosters has a comprehensive sample question bank that’s worth working through. Stick to the official blueprint, use ServiceNow docs for reference, and focus on practical application. With the right prep, you’ve got this!
