10 Things ServiceNow's Training Solution Consultants Wish You Knew 

 

1. Everyone should be in Now Learning. Regardless of what role you have in an organization, or whether you are in an organization that uses ServiceNow or not, you benefit from having a Now Learning account. That is because... 

 

2. We have 550+ FREE courses in Now Learning. Yes, you read that right. Over 90% of our training courses in Now Learning are free to everyone as part of our RiseUp commitment to skill 1 million people worldwide on the Now Platform by 2024.  

 

3. We have multiple types of certifications. We are known for our Mainline Certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD), and the different Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications, but we also have Micro Certifications and Suite Certifications. Micro Certifications are free and can be taken right in Now Learning from anywhere in the world. Suite certifications are automatically awarded to those who complete all of the certifications and trainings available for a suite, such as the ITSM Professional suite certification. 

 

4. Everyone should take Welcome to ServiceNow. It has its own Micro Cert! It will also set you up to be successful in your ServiceNow journey. Welcome to ServiceNow is for everyone. It’s not only for technical roles, but for anyone who uses the ServiceNow platform in any regard, and even those with no ServiceNow experience!  

 

5. Make sure everyone is linked to your organization’s Now Learning account. Many of our Now Learning users are not part of a company that is a customer of ServiceNow, and we love to have you! However, if you are a user that is part of a ServiceNow customer organization, you only get access to the benefits your organization has if you are linked to the organization’s account. If you are on the organization’s Now Learning account management team, you will only be able to track the progress of the users linked to the organization’s account. It’s a win-win. 

 

6. Expiration dates are closer than they appear. Learning credits, exam vouchers, and on-demand classes all expire. Don’t say we didn’t warn you! Make sure you know of your upcoming expiration dates and have a plan early on to ensure you can maximize your use of all the great training solutions available to you. Ask about our lead times early on and be proactive about scheduling training multiple months before the expiration dates roll around. 

 

7. Instructor-led training increases your ROI. Incorporating instructor-led training will accelerate the learning process, helping to provide a quicker and larger return on investment. This will be the case whether you are training technical or non-technical teams. 

 

8. Plan your training early on. Plan and start executing training as early as possible in the implementation process. Not only will you ensure that your Learning Credits do not expire before you get to use them, but you will also be ready to execute it at the right time to ensure user adoption and preparation of your technical team. You want to make sure to give yourself time to plan for fulfiller and portal user training to be ready before go-live to ensure everyone is comfortable and you have a successful adoption.  

 

9. You should have a Training Resource. Whether they are called a Training Admin, Training Manager, Training Coordinator, or have a more creative title than the ones I can come up with, having a central function coordinating training across an account leads to better outcomes. That person would also be one of the main stakeholders for our team to talk to!
