Hi everyone, I'm looking to transition into ServiceNow Developer/Admin roles and have noticed that many job postings require various ServiceNow certifications. I'm unsure which certification to start with and would appreciate some guidance.
- Is the Certified System Administrator (CSA) the best starting point, or should I focus on a developer-specific certification first?
- For someone aiming for a developer or admin role, which certifications hold the most value in the job market?
- Any recommended study resources or preparation tips for the exams?
I’d love to hear from those who have taken these certifications and how they helped in securing job opportunities. Thanks in advance for your insights!

Welcome in ServiceNow Community.
- Is the Certified System Administrator (CSA) the best starting point, or should I focus on a developer-specific certification first?
Atul: Yes , CSA is best to start with in SN ecosystem, you can start Admin training and proceed.
- For someone aiming for a developer or admin role, which certifications hold the most value in the job market?
- Atul: For developer, CAD is good to go but again the base is CSA , to start with the same.
- Any recommended study resources or preparation tips for the exams?
Atul: For mainline exam, SN provides Ebook which is best and single source of truth. Read e-book, do labs and you are all set for exam.

I agree with @Dr Atul G- LNG - start with the CSA.
