I, and may of my colleagues, are undertaking the relatively new career journeys. I think these career journeys are fantastic and have pointed many people towards them.
However, I (and my colleagues) already have CSA under the old ServiceNow Fundamentals course. We are now being told we must do the new administration course to receive our badges as it is different to the old course.
I believe this course should be made free to all those who have CSA. My reasoning is:
1. We are already undertaking (and paying for) recertification.
2. If the content is different, shouldn't we be incentivized to retrain rather than trying to utilize already stretched training budgets?

Hi @Sandra Clendon,
I agree, the career journey paths are a great initiative, but the situation a lot people like you find themselves in, where they effectively have to pay to re-take courses they've already done, is frustrating.
A couple of thoughts/observations:
While the learning within the various career journey paths is very valuable, the badge you get at the end of completing a path is underrated by the ecosystem and employers. Sadly, even if you put time and money into getting a badge, all employers really care about is the mainline certifications.
Secondly, have you considered completing the 'Professional System Admin' path rather than the 'Associate' path? The Professional path assumes you already have your CSA and I think the only paid course requirement is the Performance Analytics micro-certification.

Thanks Simon. Agree about the badges, but they may become a useful summary of training once they've been around longer.
I'm working on the Business Process Analyst path so that option doesn't work for me.
Equivalency on my Performance Analytics micro-certification works, but not the Sys Admin.

Atul: If these are free (new course) then do it, or you can do the delta for CSA.
I believe this course should be made free to all those who have CSA. My reasoning is:

2. If the content is different, shouldn't we be incentivized to retrain rather than trying to utilize already stretched training budgets?
Atul: I can understand your point and also a pain to reinvest the money but again it is designed by SN and if you reach out the SN team , they can able to help you.
If my response proves useful, please indicate its helpfulness by selecting " Accept as Solution" and " Helpful." This action benefits both the community and me.

Hi Atu,
I've paid for and done the Delta for CSA more than once. I have reached out to ServiceNow and their answer is that the new admin course is different to the old one and they want us to pay for and do the new course. Hence my concern.
This is really a reach out to ServiceNow to change their thinking around this. I would invest the time to do the new course, but the $$ is just a step too far.
