Clarification on CSA voucher claim

Hi, 

I had completed the on-demand system administrators training and received a voucher. When I try to claim the voucher, it is asking for the payment. The on-demand training was a paid training which cost around $575. Do I need to pay separately for the voucher claim as well ? I thought the voucher was free, as we had paid for the training. Please advice.

Hello AkarshaB,

Until recently (Know2025 event) the trainings used to $500 (plus taxes) and subsequent exam used to cost $300 or $500 (plus taxes) depending on the Course/module. Hence, the reason most people prefer to do the trainings/certifications through a Partner portal (Working for ServiceNow partner) where this costs would have been free. I believe you might have purchased the training before this. You could try to create a case with Now Learning to see if the cost paid towards the training (if very recent) can be waived or refunded or used to offset the exam cost but I don't think that would turn out positively. Now, ServiceNow has made training access to all the courses free, the certification vouchers however are not. And unfortunately, there are no further active promotions or free voucher programs available, so you’ll need to purchase the voucher to take the exam.

The course can be paid (class) or free of cost (on demand version), but for the exam, you will need to pay separately the voucher. Sometimes there are campaigns for free CSA vouchers, but currenlty I think ther isn't any available. If you are in a partner (and not with a personal account) you may have diferent conditions, so ensure you are registered as partner first before pay any training/voucher, just in case.

Currently, all on-demand training at SN University is free of charge, but you need to pay for the exam. To claim the voucher, you'll need to pay \$300 plus taxes. At the moment, there are no ongoing campaigns, schemes, or discounts for the voucher, so the full payment is required.

 the short answer is yes - to utilize the voucher and attend an exam you need to pay for the registration.
