CSA to Business Process Analyst

Hello,

I am looking for guidance on how to transition from a System Admin to a Business Process Analyst role.

I have the following certs: CSA, CIS-SAM (working on CIS-ITSM).

My previous experience has been in a system admin role. It was a large organization and there was a separate development team for each module. System Admin skills in practice are intermediate at this time due to the siloed work structure at the previous employer.

However, I have noticed that as I have been interviewing, I am more interested in discussing the major issues that the company is experiencing and working toward a solution. But, I do not have any formal experience (title). As a system admin, when troubleshooting issues with the customer, I have worked through issues and helped to present the issue to the dev team (informally). When discussing with the recruiter/interviewer, they often say that my resume and skillset is geared towards an admin role.

I have completed the Associate Business Process Journey at this time.

How do make the transition from a sysadmin to a Business Process Analyst role? (coursework, etc)

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. (Resume can be provided if needed)

Hi @Community Alums

Have you seen the new Udemy courses that were recently added to the Associate Business Process Analyst career journey?

They include a 13-hour course called 'The Complete Business Analysis Fundamentals Course'. I haven't taken it, but I'm sure it would be ideal training in your situation.

You need to pay $200, which gives you a year's access to all the ServiceNow Udemy courses - good value, I believe, because there are plenty of others you would get value from:

Best of luck with your career pivot!
