Hi Guys, I applied for the CSA exam, which is scheduled on Nov 20. I preferred the offline Centre to give the exam. I need some suggestions on how I need to clear this with the first attempt itself. Coming to ServiceNow, a few topics I thought I was lagging on, especially on the integrations and ACL concepts. Can you please share some thoughts on the CSA exam?

Hi @smshaik22 ,
Read Ebook 2-3 times properly, it will be sufficient. If you still want some reference material then google - Falscards and quizlets for practice. No guarantee that answers will be 100% correct but you will get questions (Idea what kind of questions will be coming) and for answer do your own reasearch [DYOR]. I hope you will be following exam blueprint for topics to be prepared. If not - please search for CSA blueprint and start looking into the topics.

Hey @smshaik22 , Congrats on scheduling your CSA exam!
Just focus on the fundamentals course on Now Learning. Go through every module carefully — that’s literally what the exam is based on.
A few quick tips:
-
Know the field names and where they’re used (for example, in tables like incident, task, cmdb_ci, etc.).
-
Understand the roles and which role can perform what action (like
admin
,itil
,catalog_admin
, etc.). -
Be familiar with table names and relationships.
-
Don’t stress too much about integrations it is not a part of CSA.
-
For ACLs, focus on the basics: how they’re evaluated (table-level, field-level, conditions, scripts), and the role requirements.
Basically, the exam checks if you understand how the platform works.. you’ll clear it easily.
Feel free to connect if you need any help.
Please Mark this Helpful and Accepted Solution. If this Helps you to understand. This will help us a lot.
Thanks & Regards

Hey @smshaik22 ,It’s good to revise the foundational topics of ServiceNow and ensure you’re clear on the core functionalities. Also, there are a lot of online mock quizzes available — I’d recommend going through those once to get a good understanding of the exam pattern and question types.
Cheers,
Sanjay J.

Hi @smshaik22
Tips for the CSA Exam (Certified System Administrator)
CSA is the first and foundational exam in your ServiceNow journey. Here are some tips to help you prepare effectively:
-
Study the training material thoroughly – Go through it line by line, word by word, at least 2–3 times.
-
Practice the labs multiple times – Do each lab 3–4 times. Don’t just complete them; carefully read and understand the instructions as well.
-
Follow the official eBook – Review it thoroughly at least 2–3 times to reinforce your understanding.
-
Consider supplementary courses – Some candidates have found Udemy courses helpful for additional practice and clarity.
-
Watch my experience video – I’ve shared my own preparation journey and tips here:
Good luck on your CSA journey!
