Hello all!
Today is the first day after the transition from Webassessor to Pearson VUE took the effect:
Transitioning from Webassessor to Pearson VUE FAQ
And I have been waiting to schedule my exam with the new exam platform that is directly built into the SN University. Let's take a look at it!
Being eligible
- To be able to schedule an exam, you need to finish a corresponding training like ever before.
- Once you are eligible, then there are several options:
- 1. Directly upon eLearning completion:
- 2. My exams in your profile: https://learning.servicenow.com/now/lxp/learning-dashboard
- or bookmark the page: https://learning.servicenow.com/now/lxp/my-exams
- Current and Past exams are displayed
- This is where you re/schedule your exam
Registering for an exam
- After you register, you have 90 days to schedule your exam,
- Email confirmation sent to your mailbox
- Click Register now to continue
- Read and Agree with the Terms & Conditions:
- then Confirm your identity:
What's new here is the chance for candidates with disabilities to request following accomodations:
Pay for Content
- In the next step you select the payment method:
- Learning credits
- Pay with CC
Schedule now
- Once you pass all the steps above (it all takes a few minutes), then it's time to schedule your exam.
- It must be before 90 days after registration (until Feb 16th in my case):
- In person at a test center
- Online with OnVUE
I selected the TC so I am covering that part but I believe that online will be very similar or even easier:
Select your preferred language (my knowledge of Japanese is limited, so English it is😞
- Agree to ServiceNow Policies:
Selecting Test Centres (TC) and Time Slots
- This was the most difficult part for me, you can select up to 3 TCs to see their available time slots, and most likely due to the transition completed on today,
- most of the TC have no available slot for next 3 months (I search only in Portugal - Lisboa and Oporto),
- I believe that the availability will be better with time but at this moment this was very difficult to select a relevant TC,
- Currently it's not supported but my idea would be to give candidates chance to select their date and see available TC on that day, it would make the whole process much easier and faster,
- I spent quite some time on finding a TC that has available time slots that makes sense for me (commuting),
- You can select from a list (you query on country, city, postal code), but my current list displays onle 5 TCs in the list, so the map will also display 5 TCs. but if you click Show more you can see more TCs (up to 30 in my case of Portugal but it's showing a few locations in Spain as well) then the map will display all what's in the list
- My tip: click Show more until you see the full list and then go check the map
- Maybe it's my specific situation, I can go to pretty much any location in Portugal (except of Açores lol)
- your preferred time zone is set on default, and for better experience you can select your 12/24 time preferences as well
- if just one time slot is available you see just one button > Book this appointment
- If more options you can click on Explore more times:
- This part was not entirely intuitive as it required lots of jumping between the TCs and getting easily lost to where am I
- Again: having the chance to book from the other end.. selecting a date and having a list of available TCs would make it so much nicer ;)) This is just an idea, not possible to do so or I haven't found it.
- Submit et voliá!
Confirmation and summary
- you will receive confirmation to your SN mailbox,
- Or you can track it in the My Exam tab as shared above,
- The process is easier than scheduling in Webassessor (RIP) because you see only relevant exams, in Webassessor (RIP) you had to search in list of irrelevant exams,
- I believe that for online proctored exam the Registering and Scheduling is super easy,
- However for the onsite exams it was quite difficult, perhaps it's due to the fact that the TCs will continue giving more and more available timeframes (I can imagine that their stuff is being learned on this or preparing the whole thing) because it's obvious that their number is significantly higher than with Webassessor (RIP), previously there was like 6 centres in Portugal, now there's more than 25 (islands and some locations in Spain but the distance is considered)
TL;DR
- I'm booked for December, wish me luck ahahahaha!
