All:
I am scheduled to take an exam this coming Friday and I recall someone cautioning NOT to use your work laptop as the software that you are required to download could cause issues with your laptop.
Anyone had this or any other issue taking the exam at home.
I do have an external webcam already.
My apologies if this post does not belong here but could not find any other place for it either.
Thanks!
Mahesh

Hi,
As mentioned in my other post:
I have not heard of any issues if you follow the guidance from Webassessor (Kryterion).
You are asked to have 'admin' rights on your computer so you can install the software. They will remote connect you may need to disable certain applications/processes...so if your company laptop/equipment does not allow you to have admin rights or the 'right' to disable these apps/processes then yes...you may have a problem.
Please see their website for more information: https://kryterion.force.com/support/s/topic/0TO1W000000I5h3WAC/online-proctoring?language=en_US
and please see this link for exact instructions for installing their "Sentinel Secure" software:

Please mark reply as Helpful/Correct, if applicable. Thanks!

Hi there,
Try to install the software days before taking the exam.
A company laptop can be an issue when you don't have installation rights, can't disable the firewall, external webcam cannot be installed, etc.. If that's all fine... no worries!
But again, install the software days before taking the exam. Don't do this a few minutes before (and you can't just reschedule the exam anymore if you can't get it working... rescheduling within 72 hours since a few months costs $$$)
If my answer helped you in any way, please then mark it as helpful.
Kind regards,
Mark

One issue can happen if you have a totally clean install of Windows. When Kriterion Sentinel runs you will get an error that says that a file is missing. CefSharp.core.dll. This is from the VC++ Redistributable file from Visual Studio 2015 (x86 version). Kriterion Sentinel needs it to run, but doesn't package it. They assume you have .NET installed. Not in my case. Totally clean Win10.
