I would want to appear for Servicenow system admin certification and hence would like to know if it is mandatory to formally get trained before appearing for the exam. Does this certification program validates if you are trained prior to the exam?

No it not mandatory to take the class before writing the cert. But it's recommended.

Hi Goran,

I have a similar question, and I think you just answered it.  So to take a certifcation exam, it is not necessary to take the course first?  I know it's recommended, but wanting to know if it's required.  Seeing this graphic in the SN docs about certifications...so looking at this for example.  thanks!

You can use the practice tests and they cover most of the topics and questions for the exam.

Sudheendra,

Definitely NOT mandatory.   According to all of ServiceNow's training websites, the words "...should have attended..." (e.g. Certified System Administrator ) are used;   no where are the words "must", "required" found in regards to having to take the classes.   Of course, this does not imply in anyway that the courses will not be helpful.
