should I study servicenow Associate System Admin or servicenow Associate Application Developer

Rinu
Giga Expert

Hi,

I am new to servicenow and I have already completed servicenow fundamentals. I would like to complete CSA certification shortly. I have 5+ years of experience working as ERP functional consultant. I am little confused with the description written for Associate System Administrator and Associate Application Developer.

I feel I must begin with Associate System Administrator course. But I can see a lot of contents that I want to focus on already listed under Associate Application Developer course. (screenshot attached.)

Kindly suggest.

Thanks,

Rinu

Hi @Rinu ,

Start with the administrator, as you need to have the fundamental understanding of ServiceNow and it's architecture in place. Afterwards when you have obtained this, and also get some practical usage of the platform, then take the developer course.

If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as accepted solution and give a thumb up.

Hi @Rinu

Welcome in SN World and all the best for CSA exam. The subject link which you posted are 2 different stuff.

ASA -- in more on depth on admin part, which will helpful for you to understand SN in depth and root stuff.

AAD - If you have more interest in coding ( now a days even low code), then start with AAD.

My experience say, complete Admin journey first and then start with developer part.

All the best.

Thanks for the reply. Is there anyway to attend the servicenow admin exam free of cost? I am being charged $300 which is really out of my budget at this time to spare.
