With Australia, teams learned to work alongside AI. With Brazil, they start supervising it. AI now reaches from requirements to running code: planning work, building it, writing and self-healing its own tests, troubleshooting flows and packaging changes for deployment. People stay accountable for the decisions that matter — architecture, data, security and outcomes.

Brazil also brings the ServiceNow Otto experience into product names across the platform, opens governed actions to AI agents through MCP servers, and carries a meaningful list of deprecations and access changes every Platform Owner needs to test before upgrading. The new release calendar means many production upgrades will land in December — start sub-production testing now.

Three frontiers, one experience

The Software Frontier: AI that builds. Discover how Autonomous Engineer helps plan, build, test, and identify issues across complete units of development work, expanding what's possible across the software lifecycle.

The Work Frontier: AI that works across boundaries. Explore how Arc carries work across applications, files, systems, and workflows to help drive outcomes with enterprise visibility and control.

The Enterprise Frontier: AI that acts across the enterprise connect every agent. Action Fabric and Process Intelligence MCP Server connect agents, workflows, systems, and context to turn intelligence into action.

ServiceNow Lux: where it all comes together. Lux begins to unify how people understand and guide autonomous work.

⚠️ Upgrade without surprises: test these  Brazil changes first
Before upgrading, review the target-release notes and migration tasks for your installed applications. Record each applicable access, default-behavior, UI, integration and deprecation change, together with its source, affected personas, test evidence and owner. Confirm entitlements and availability before enabling optional capabilities.

  1. Lux is a UI change. Lux is ServiceNow’s new UI framework. It runs alongside your existing Workspaces and Service Portals, which have no deprecation plan. You decide when to adopt it. Pilot it in sub-production first and validate any customized portals and workspaces there before you plan a production rollout. Decide when you turn it on, and test custom portals and workspaces in sub-production first.
  2. MCP servers are multiplying. ITSM, ITOM, SPM, HRSD and Process Intelligence now offer MCP servers (CMDB and Service Mapping in Controlled Availability). Decide which AI clients may connect before anyone asks. ITSM MCP Server capabilities are documented before Brazil. Confirm the required product tier, entitlement and availability for each MCP server before enabling connectivity.
  3. Vault Console ships default protections. Real-time sensitive-data alerts in work notes and comments are visible, so tell them before you enable it. It populates the User Sensitive Data Logs for compliance oversight.
  4. Service Catalog request ACLs — removed catalog roles, including catalog admin, from the out-of-box request management ACLs on tables like sc_request and sc_req_item. Anyone who relied only on a catalog role to see or work requests and RITMs will lose that access unless they also hold a request management role. Identify those users before upgrading and assign the right request management role.
  5. Legacy LLM models — no longer selectable for new AI skills, agents or agentic workflows
  6. Virtual Agent — ITSM pre-built topics, VA Lite, and Alexa, Amazon Connect and IBM Watson integrations head toward deprecation end of support in Denmark
  7. Legacy Kubernetes Discovery API — rebuild discovery with the Kubernetes Visibility Agent (KVA)
  8. Planning Console — deprecated; project managers move to Project Workspace

Plus: Build Agent is enabled by default for AI app creation, subject to licensing. Automatic Store upgrades apply to installed Build Agent on Australia Patch 5+ or Zurich Patch 12+; do not assume the Brazil family upgrade installs it on every instance. Decide who gets access before your users find it. Full impact matrix, timeline and checklists in the PREPARE blog [link]
