After enabling 3DES password deprecation, is their a way to revert it?

Hello,

If you already have enabled the 3DES deprecation, do you know of any way to revert it?
I tried checking it in the documentation, I cannot find of any method aside from contacting HI-support about it. Is there another way around it like just changing the system property for enabling 3DES deprecation back?

Regards,
Vaine

Hi @Rain Vaine

please explain WHY you are asking so we can better understand your situation,

Maik

Hello,
Just on the case that if something didn't work due to enabling 3DES deprecation we want to know if there is still a way to revert back to before applying 3DES deprecation. When I review on the the documentation it seems that the only way is to request for an instance downgrade from HI and then requesting disabling 3DES deprecation also from HI.

Vaine

Hi @Rain Vaine Enabling 3DES is required as per ServiceNow recommendations and NIST guidelines.

Under 3DES properties it is like enabling an option and we may validate if the field remains editable you should be able to disable this as well.

We are planning to enable the same by end of this month and can let you know .

Although i understand you are trying to have this information as precautionary step so just in case if it is helpful , we did some impact analysis with our technical team and they suggested the same does not have any impact on user login.

Thanks
