Hello.
After upgrading from the Kingston version to New York, the Post button that appeared for the Customer Response and Tech Notes fields in the Incident form is no longer visible. I have searched this Community site and followed steps provided in published posts (e.g, Form layout, ACLs, UI Policies, Filter Activities button, etc.), but I have not been able to restore the Post button.
Any suggestions to get this button restored in the New York version?
Thank you.

Hi Joy,
The button you are talking about sounds like a custom action on your instance. I haven't seen that on any versions. Check your UI actions as that is what manages the buttons. You may need to do some fine tuning on the conditions as jumping from Kingston to New York is a big change.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Johnfeist. We have kept our instance pretty much as out of the box and have not created custom UI actions. However, I checked the UI Actions and there is not one that handles the Post button.

Hi,
My company also upgraded from Kingston to New York and have not had any issues like you describe.
I'm unsure what all you have done in terms of the ACLs, but I would review your "write" ACLs for the comments and worknotes fields, specifically, to see if they have been adjusted during the upgrade (i.e. reverted back to base) or if you need to adjust them yourself by indicating correct role, etc.
Also, are the records you're looking at..eligible for post comments/work-notes (i.e. still active)? Depending on your settings, comments/work-notes can be disabled in those circumstances too.

Nice article find Arthwys.
So to recap:
"As explained above, this is expected behavior now starting from NY - if the comments or work notes field is made mandatory using policies or client scripts, the Post button is removed from the Activity Stream"
