Upgrade to new family version - Procedure?

Hi everyone,

Currently, we are running on Quebec version and i am aware of the new family version San Diego which is releasing on March end. Actually, I don't know how the process go in upgrading our instance to newer version.

Do we need to raise a case in Hi portal for our instance upgrade or do the service-now automatically upgrade our instance?

Because we are getting mails like

30 Day End-of-Life Platform upgrade notification

So, can some one let us know how to proceed here and before which date we need to do something to upgrade our instance?

Regards,

Sravanthi

Hello Sravanthi,

I would suggest since this is your first time planning or doing an upgrade with the ServiceNow platform to review the content from the Customer Success Center from the following URL below.

https://www.servicenow.com/success/instance-upgrades/upgrade-best-practices.html#csc-hub

It also contains information on upgrade best practices and success workbooks that you can utilize to make your upgrade successful for your organization.

We also took advantage of working with ServiceNow's "Jumpstart Your Upgrade" consultation where they will walk you through the proper steps and procedures to upgrade your instance each year.  This really benefited our organization and we have cut down our upgrade planning & downtime hours tremendously.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you need any additional info.

Kind regards,

Terry Carter

Hello! Since you are receiving End of Life upgrade notifications, that means ServiceNow has already scheduled upgrades for your instances that will become unsupported when San Diego is released in March.  Please see the scheduled upgrades (change records) on your instances dashboard page in Now Support.  The upgrades will automatically occur as scheduled but you can make modifications as needed (e.g. change start date/time or target version).
