What are the risks of updating the Unified Navigation Menu (sys_polaris_menu_config) table?

Hi

I want to hide the Workspaces menu at the top of the screen, so I want to update the Unified Navigation Menu (sys_polaris_menu_config) table,
but I get a warning that it's not recommended.
Is there a way to do this other than not updating this record?
Also, are there any risks associated with updating it?

there is other workaround using UI script but it involves using DOM manipulation which is not recommended

with this approach you need not touch any OOTB component

I haven't tried that though
