For some reason when I checked the "assigned to" fields in the Interaction tables this set to a default value as dynamic set to sender (as shown below). I turned this off and now the walkup request is queued based on the AWA definition. Let me ...

Just to add, you can also check if there is an email template applied to the table by Navigating to Email Client > Email Client Templates.
