Access to new created database view for dashboards

I created a new database view and want to add a list report to my dashboards using this view but when I go to create this report, I don't see the new db view as an option. Is there something I need to do to publish this newly created view to get access?

I figured it out...I needed to create a report first using the view vs. trying to configure the database view while creating/updating a  custom dashboard
