Approval Automation

Hello All, we have got requirement saying that need to automate the approval process like if a manager is on a long leave he should assign a delegated person for approval now its done by support team now to automate this process we thought of automation this process like if a manager raise a request for his delegation via any catalog and all the approvals in his name and the approvals triggering for that person in that de4legated window should be routed to that delegated person can anyone suggest me a best approach to this or how I can implement it. paraphrase this.

Why aren't you using the OOB delegation option? You can just make the delegation process available through the portal. Check the OOB 'Set a delegate for a direct report' record producer.
