I want to learn ServiceNow ITOM (IT Operations Management) from scratch and gradually progress to an advanced level.

I have knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM and want to understand ITOM concepts step by step, with practical examples and hands-on practice.

Could experienced ServiceNow professionals please recommend the following?

1. Prerequisites: What topics should I learn before starting ITOM? Do I need knowledge of networking, Linux, Windows Server, JavaScript, or any other technologies?

2. Learning Roadmap: What is the recommended order to learn ITOM modules such as Discovery, MID Server, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB?

3. Learning Resources: Are there any good free courses, official documentation, blogs, or learning paths for beginners?

4. YouTube Channels: Which YouTube channels provide clear, beginner-friendly explanations and practical demonstrations of ServiceNow ITOM?

5. Hands-on Practice: How can I practise ITOM concepts if I have a personal ServiceNow developer instance? Are there any alternative labs or learning environments?

6. Certifications and Career: Which ITOM certifications or learning paths should I consider, and what skills are expected for an entry-level ITOM role?

Regarding the CMDB, this module is spread across multiple other modules, you can search for it to get the courses as well.

There are 2 ServiceNow Mainline certification available under ITOM - 

• CIS - Data Foundation
• CIS - Discovery

ServiceNow University Learning Path:

You can start with CMDB and CSDM .

Once you complete the learning , go for CIS-DF certification.

Once CIS_ DF ( its a prerequisite of CIS-Discovery) is done , Go for CIS- Discovery.

And at the end complete Event management course.
