Can a form variable be added to the available columns on Lists?

Can anyone tell me if a form variable (or variable set) can be added to the available columns on Lists?

And if so, how do I do it?

When you click on personalize list on the table, Do you have variables option in the end?

No, are they supposed to be there? Is there a step we're missing when creating them that will add them to the available lists?
