Are you looking to explain change managements to others not familiar? If so...

Change Management is like the family coming to the dinner table discussing who is taking Suzy to soccer practice, Bobby to to dance recital, dad's dinner plans vs. mom's etc. Who is shuttling who, and who needs support. When are the activities taking place and what are the risks?

Also, if you are asking about models...

Standard Change: so standard and minimum risk that it doesn't need to go through the normal CAB process. Applying a certificate that *doesn't* need a reboot. Note: These changes are either through a template (as they are repeatable) or leveraging a "pre-approved" model as they are usually preapproved.

Normal Change: Moderate to High risk that needs the oversite of a normal CAB review. New Server builds.

Emergency Change: Usually in response to a P1 (or P2 depending on your business) or a security threat. Notification received that we need to apply a patch in response to just found malware.

Unauthorized Change: Two scenarios - either Discovery, or Event Management tools found a discrepancy between the last configuration and the newly discovered configuration. The second scenario involves using a making a change to close an incident and entering the change after the fact.

Register Change: This is used when the change is being performed by a third party and you need to track the change for future potential problem solving. WizzyWig LLC hosts your web portal and provides support for the processes and workflows with the portal. They tell you that they have a release coming up for your instance. You log a Register Change so you have the recording of it and possibly trigger handling communications to the user base.
