Drag and drop Attachment Not working in workspace form.

Hello Team,

I am facing an issue with file attachments in my custom workspace.

When I try to drag and drop a file into the attachment section, I get this popup message:

"For our security , file drag and drop may not have been allowed . Please use the file upload option instead ."
However , my colleague is able to drag and drop files into the same form without any issue. To check further , my colleague impersonated me and tested again - and drag and drop worked fine for them under impersonation.

So the problem happens only when I try directly with my own login. I also have admin role.

Has anyone faced this issue before? is there any setting i need to check in ServiceNow or is this related to browser / system restrictions.

Thank in Advance

Hello @GlideFather , sorry for the delay after the high case investigation they said it is browser issue. It is working fine now.

Thanks

Oi @jss teja,

great to hear it's fixed!

So the solution was what I wrote here:

Feel free to consider accepting my answer above for solution as it was indeed browser related and to close this thread

We're also experiencing this. Look forward to hearing what is suggested.

@VanManz I 've never heard of such issue and error message ever before... 😮

Debugging tips:

  • at the very same form:
    • upload files with different extensions (e.g. txt, pdf, xlsx, jpeg, ...)
    • try to impersonate for another user and repeat the above step
  • at any other record in the same table
    • repeat above
  • at any other record in DIFFERENT table
    • repeat steps above

Has the error message occurred always or only sometimes?

With this, try to spot and mark whether there is any pattern:

  • a specific user related
  • a specific record related
  • a specific table related
  • a specific file extension related
  • ......

It can be due to uploading by a user who isn't allowed to, or unsupported file extension etc.

Please let me know if you could dig up for some more details.
