Duplicate KB numbers

As when I published a KB and Again move it to draft state and published the new one. I got two KB with same name in the list view. One is in Published state and other is in Outdated state. And If I do the same process multiple time, it will create multiple KB with same name but only one will be in publish and other all will be in outdated state. I want to now that this is OOTB feature or what. But all the KB have different sys ID. And if it is a OOTB feature where I can found the workflow or any OOTB script

Yes, this is completely Out-of-the-Box behavior in ServiceNow if you have the Article Versioning feature enabled.
