How change the colum information in the table request item

I'm trying to change the colum Stage

It's showing this circles and a I wanna see the information in the form like that 

In a simple line

How can I do that?

Yes looks like it is empty for the first stage.

Right click on the stage field then configure --> dictionary. Find the stage field shown below and change type to string from workflow.

Right It's working, but change the name to the label

For example 

The label is Waiting for a approval but put it like Request Approval, It's not another choice

and put it like that, What can do this?
