Hi All
I would like to know HOW to create a Change template out of an existing Normal Change (Closed) which would copy Change tasks at ease.
We would like to promote the usage of templates in our organizations but some users bit hesitant to use templates as they have to spend more time in creating child tasks and linking to Parent Template.
Is there a simple way to copy tasks while creating NEW Change Templates.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Suman

Hello,
Creating a Change template from an existing Normal Change can streamline your processes. While the exact steps may vary depending on your specific system, here are some general guidelines:
Identify the Existing Normal Change:
Locate the Normal Change that you want to use as a template. Ensure it’s in a Closed state.
Create a New Change Template:
In your change management system (e.g., ServiceNow), navigate to the area where you manage templates.
Look for an option to create a new template. This might be labeled as “Create Template” or something similar.
Select the Existing Change as a Base:
When creating the new template, choose the option to base it on an existing change.
Select the Closed Normal Change that you want to use as your template.
Copy Tasks and Configuration:
The system should automatically copy over the tasks and configuration from the existing change.
Verify that all relevant tasks (child tasks) are included in the template.
Review and Customize:
Once the template is created, review it to ensure that everything copied correctly.
You can customize the template further by adding or removing tasks, adjusting due dates, and modifying any other relevant information.
Save the Template:
Save the new template with a descriptive name (e.g., “Standard Change Template based on XYZ”).
Encourage users to use this template for future changes.
Hope this will help you.
Best regards,

Hi FlorenceG
Thanks for the reply. This is what i was looking for to create a Normal Change and not a Standard Change Template by the way.
Also the steps you have mentioned, can you provide screen shots which would help us to relate and explore more on this as OOTB , I am not able to find any option through which you can copy content as well as CTASKS except the copy change option.
Thanks
