I am facing an issue where I have multiple KB articles set to Active= False but Latest= True. What I observed is that they are being set Active= False while new versions creation or any modification. I went through the workflow for knowledge bases but now the workflow is running properly but need to find the cause of why this happened earlier. Please guide

Also, I have one more doubt. I am not able to see the workflow for these articles when the workflow was executed. The related link for checking workflow is not visible. Is there a way to check the workflow that ran in the past when active was marked as False?

Usually if there is no workflow context link, theres no workflow tied to that record. Not having a workflow tied to the KB is a good indication as to why it broke. From what it sounds like you fixed whatever broke it.

Hey,I figure out the reason for this. What I have observed is when the article was marked as Retired, active is set to false and any new version created after that has active set to False by default. But what I cannot understand here is How is it possible to create a new version for the KB article that is Retired. Or how is it possible to retire a previous version of the KB article, once a newer version is published and available. Is there a way this could happen?
I have attached an image for reference. As per this SS, from v1-4 active is true and the article is moved to OutDated state when a newer version is created. But from V5, the article is marked as Retired, and active = false and in all the following versions, 6 & 7, active field is False only.
The question I have is that if the V5 of the KB article was retired, how did version 6 & 7 got created or vice versa?

Hi @ankita1506 ,
you should check the activity log and find the KB stage and active change sequence.
check if active =false changed before the stage= publish then check the workflow path where some script code written otherwise check the same in sub-workflow and End part.
If I could help you with your Query then, please hit the Thumb Icon and mark it as Correct !!
Thanks & Regards,
