Unified analytics, simplified data management
Customers tell us that analytics outside ServiceNow is painful. The moment data leaves the platform for an external lakehouse, it loses context and creates governance gaps — plus the latency, engineering toil, and tool sprawl that come with it. The Australia release addresses this head-on with two new capabilities: Live Connect and Live Archive.
Connect BI tools directly to ServiceNow without exporting data
The typical analytics workflow — schedule a full-table export, transform it, load it into a warehouse, connect your BI tool — is slow, fragile, and expensive. By the time a dashboard is ready, the data is stale. If the schema changes, pipelines break and analysts spend the next week fixing plumbing instead of delivering insights. Every export also creates another ungoverned copy of sensitive data outside your security perimeter.
Live Connect eliminates this entirely. RaptorDB Pro exposes a SQL interface that lets analysts push queries directly to live data through standard JDBC and ODBC. No scheduled exports. No ETL pipelines. No third-party data stores.
Analysts connect Tableau, Power BI, or any SQL-compatible tool and get precise data retrieval — only the columns, rows, and time ranges they need. Ad-hoc follow-up questions don't require re-running export jobs. Results come from current data with read-only access and full ServiceNow ACL enforcement. Data never leaves the governance perimeter.
Early adopter customers have cut data extraction time from hours to minutes by removing the export layer entirely.
Use Cases for Live Connect
Operational and executive reporting on live data, trend analysis across warm and archived data, ad-hoc analysis without custom reports or exports, and feeding governed ServiceNow data into enterprise analytics workflows.
Simplify data storage and lifecycle management without losing query access
As instances grow, customers accumulate millions of records across Incident, Change, CMDB, and other high-volume tables. The default approach moves older records into archive tables, but that data becomes harder to query or use in analytics. Customers who move data off-platform end up building custom ETL pipelines to external databases — more middleware, more ungoverned copies, and a gap between operational and historical data that makes longitudinal analysis painful.
Live Archive introduces platform-native archiving that keeps historical data queryable and governed without off-platform complexity. Administrators define retention policies based on business rules — archive closed incidents older than 12 months, resolved changes beyond a retention window — and Live Archive moves those records into cost-optimized storage tiers while preserving full query access through the same SQL interface used by Live Connect.
A single query can span live and archived data. No middleware. No external databases. No stitching datasets from multiple systems. Archived records inherit the same ACL policies, role-based permissions, and governance rules as live data but customers also have the flexibility to apply different access policies across these tables to further restrict who can query archived records.
Use Cases for Live Archive
Long-term retention for regulatory and audit compliance, cost-optimized storage for high-volume tables, historical trend analysis spanning years in a single query, and simplified lifecycle management without external archiving infrastructure, training AI skills with larger datasets within the ServiceNow context, and preparing for the deluge of data generated by AI agents and workflows.
Unlock real-time business value with intraday analytics
Not every decision can wait for tomorrow's dashboard. Factory floor managers need to track equipment efficiency shift by shift. Contact center leaders need hourly incident volume trends to adjust staffing in real time. IT operations teams need to spot anomalies as they develop.
RaptorDB Pro's new Intraday Analytics capability, powered by Data Snapshots, enables near-real-time visibility into operational metrics — so teams can make same-day corrections like adding agents during a volume spike, escalating incidents when SLA compliance slips, or adjusting production schedules when output falls behind.
