Close a catalog task after the task is either approved or rejected.

I have created a request in my workflow that has 4 tasks that will either be accepted or rejected. I used create task and then ask for approval. Either way accepted or rejected I just need to close each task. Is there an easy way to close each task after it's approved or rejected? I just need to track if each task was either approved of rejected. I appreciate any assistance as this will be a temporary solution that will only be used for a brief period.

Not sure i chose the correct board.

Thanks for the reply OlaN! Yes I agree however I had that in the original workflow. Not sure why. This is a real quick solution that will only be used for a limited time.

Now they want the tasks to be created in parallel. So I created all of the tasks first and after each task I did an Ask for Approval. Whether or not the each approver Approves or Rejects the approval the want it captured. So after I created each task I did an Ask for Approval. Should I be then referencing the pills for the Request, Request Item, and then each catalog task and set state to "Closed Complete"? Is that how I can get to the catalog task to close it? Once closed then I can close the RITM.

Hello @rdonlon ,

Why can't you just create 4 approvals first, for example "Task 1 required?", "Task 2 required?", etc.

Then after all the approvers have responded your flow would create only those tasks where the corresponding approval was approved.

Robert

Hi,

Not sure if I follow, but wouldn't it be better to first do the approval, and after it's been approved, create the task ?

I can't see the use case to create the task at all if the approval gets rejected.

Thanks Robert and OlaN!

So I am now creating the task, asking for Approval and If Approved they want the remaining 3 tasks performed in parallel. I appreciate all the help!
