Creating a report to track filled and vacant roles overtime

Hi if anyone could lend some insight, it would be much appreciated.

I'm  using the resource management workspace to create a reporting showing the following.

How long a role has been filled during a qtr.

The percentage that role has been vacant per qtr.

The amount of time all positions are fully staffed/Vacant in a given qtr.

I've created resource plans per role so far. Requested and Allocated them.

Added the days in a qtr to 59 working days.

As well as hours in a qtr to a total. Divided them equally into 13 weeks of tracking, 5 working days, and 8hrs a day.

It looks like its overkill and I am recreating a time card tracking system.

Instead I'm looking to simplify and only track amount of time role is filled and vacant for a qtr.

Represent that in a report showing a visualization of it.

I realized that it came down to how I structured my resource plans.

Using the requested and confirmed as operators.

crafted a pivot multi level pivot table.

Used the aggregate function to create a percentage of based on plan or capacity percentage.
