Working with Now Assist tools and AI files in ServiceNow Studio
Several Now Assist tools are available for you to use in ServiceNow Studio. AI files provide ways to use generative AI to enhance user productivity and efficiency through conversation and proactive experiences.
The main AI tools you can use in ServiceNow Studio are Now Assist for Creator skills called Now Assist for app generation and Now Assist for app summary generation. Now Assist for app generation enables you to create apps using a conversational interface right in ServiceNow Studio. Now Assist for app summary generation enables you to create summary descriptions of your app that you can use as a short description for your app.
Now Assist for app generation
Get started creating an app quickly using Now Assist for app generation. From the main ServiceNow Studio home page, you can quickly use AI to create or update an app. After having a conversation about the app that you want to create, Now Assist for Creator generates the app that you can modify.
Access Now Assist for app generation on the main home page next to your user preferences, or on the same page as creating a new custom application.

Now Assist for app summary generation
After you have created your app, you can use Now Assist for app summary generation to create a summary of the contents and purpose of your app. Rate or update the summary, and use it as the description for your app. Good app descriptions can enable you to govern your app ecosystem and help you see where you might have duplicate apps.

AI metadata types
You can add three different types of AI files to your applications: Agentic Workflows, AI Agents, and Skills. These files open in a new tab so you can edit them in AI Agent Studio. After creating or editing a new AI file, go back to your App details page and select the reload app details icon to capture your changes.
