With 90 faculty members and over 900 students, Mila is the world’s largest academic research center in artificial intelligence. Thanks to the contribution of partners like ServiceNow, Mila can achieve their mission of being a global pole for scientific advances that inspire innovation and the development of AI for the benefit of all. Mila’s objective resonates with the purpose of the ServiceNow research group to responsibly innovate in enterprise AI while supporting the company’s greater goal of making the world work better for everyone.

The ServiceNow and Mila partnership fosters collaborations between the ServiceNow Research team and academic experts to conduct ground-breaking research benefiting both parties. In addition to participating in workshops and scientific events together, ServiceNow Research Scientists, Applied Research Scientists, and Mila academic members and students join forces on various projects. Through their work, they address key issues pertaining to visual abstract reasoning, dialogue analysis, natural language processing, and large language models, among others.

The proximity between the ServiceNow Research and Mila offices in Montreal also encourages collaborations with over a dozen of Master’s and Ph.D. students each year. Joining the ServiceNow team as visiting researchers, these graduate students conduct internships that strengthen their research skills in their area of expertise and give them work experience outside the academic context.
