How to handle inbound emails without a POP3 server?

Hello

We are using a custom email address via the SMTP protocol. Everything is correctly configured and has been successfully tested. The outbound traffic is routed through the custom email address without any issues. However, we would also like to configure the inbound flow. By default, ServiceNow uses the POP3 protocol for this. Unfortunately, we do not have a POP3 server in our company that handles traffic for our custom email address. Is there a solution for this? Is it possible to use another protocol?

Many thanks for a reply.

Hi @wernerschut,

ServiceNow use POP3 protocol as Legacy. If your organization is not handling POP3 you can proceed with the IMAP. It's an alternative option for POP3 for the Inbound emails.

Hi @wernerschut

POP3 is the recommended protocol. However, if POP3 is not available, you can use IMAP as an alternative.
