How can I make CI not mandatory on requested item form in Service Operation Workspace?

Hi!

 

Can someone guide me on how I can make the configuration item not mandatory in Service Operation Workspace? We would like it to work the same way as in the list views etc

 

I am not able to edit the field in the Form design for the Service Operation Workspace View

Hi,

How is the field made mandatory now? Is it mandatory by a Client script?

If so, then you can change the script to only apply to Desktop (configurable workspace counts as portal view).

 

Configuring the Form layout will not help in setting a field as mandatory/non-mandatory, it's only used to choose which fields should be available in the form.

Configuration item on the Requested Item form in the Service Operations Workspace is not mandatory out of the box, so you'll have to find what you have in place in your environment to make it so.  Look for any Client Scripts, Data Policies, or UI Policies on the sc_req_item table that are affecting the cmdb_ci field.
