How can the current update set name be shown in the Next Experience unified navigator beside the globe icon.

This is not possible Kiran, definitely not by any oob configurations.
You may look at other avenue like SN Utils Chrome Plugin which may have some options.

Hey @kiran115, you can create a system property titled glide.ui.next_experience.instance_tools_disabled and set it to false to see the application scope picker and update set in a horizontal row beneath the globe icon like in the screenshot (source).
Alternatively, if you install SNUtils on your browser, you'll see the info adjacent to the globe icon.
