Technology Update possible? Get rid of PowerShells and MID Server?

Dear Team,

 

by now we have hybrid AD Environment and we use for e.g. PowerShell Scripts via MID Server to create, update, delete Object within AD like users, security groups, distribution list etc.

 

As Active Directory will be more and more cloud based in the future - i like to understand if PowerShell and MID Server is still state of the art. Especially as ServiceNow is Cloud Based and our IT Landscape will be cloud based as well, are there other technologies / approaches available to perform certain actions describes above?

As far my knowledge say MID Server is still a need. May be you can connect with SN Support team of your account and get some useful info.
