In this article, we’ll go through a step-by-step approach to disable or hide the Add Task button in the Change form under the Overview tab of the Service Operations Workspace using UI Builder in the Now Experience Framework.
🧭 Step 1: Navigate to UI Builder
Make sure the application scope is set to Change Management for Service Operations Workspace.
- Go to Now Experience Framework → UI Builder from your application navigator.
🧩 Step 2: Open the Service Operations Workspace Experience
- In the UI Builder home page, open the Experiences tab.
- Search for Service Operations Workspace.
- Open the Service Operations Workspace experience.
🧱 Step 3: Locate the Change Overview Viewport
Inside the experience, search for and open Chg Overview Viewport SNC.
- In the left panel, click on Section Viewport.
On the right-hand side (bottom panel), double-click Change Overview Task SNC.
Tip: You can also confirm in the preview pane that the Add Task button is visible under the Overview tab.
🧭 Step 4: Edit the Content Page
Click Edit Content.
You’ll be prompted to open the subpage — select Change Overview Task SNC again.
Since the original content page cannot be modified directly, UI Builder will show a message indicating that editing the base variant isn’t allowed.
🪄 Step 5: Duplicate the Variant
In the message prompt, click Duplicate Variant.
Alternatively, you can click the Open Menu (three dots) in the left panel and select Duplicate Variant from the dropdown.
- Provide a meaningful name for the duplicated variant (e.g., Change Overview Task SNC - Custom).
🧰 Step 6: Configure the Add Task Button
In the left panel, locate the Add Task button section (under the Button Container).
Click on it and open its configuration in the right panel. Navigate to the Configure tab.
⚙️ Step 7: Disable or Hide the Add Task Button
You now have two options:
Option 1: Disable the Button
check the Disabled toggle under Configure.
This will make the button visible but unclickable.
Option 2: Hide the Button
In the same Configure tab, expand the Component Visibility section.
Click on the pencil icon beside Hide Component.
Check the Hide Component checkbox.
Save your changes. This approach ensures the Add Task button is completely hidden from view in the Change Overview tab of the Service Operations Workspace.
Final Outcome
Once saved, open the Service Operations Workspace → Change Form → Overview Tab to verify the Add Task button is no longer accessible or visible — depending on your chosen configuration.
