Any guidelines to identify if the CMDB data is sitting in right tables?

Hi!

I am looking for guidelines to identify if the CMDB data is sitting in right tables.

In one of my customer instance, CMDB data is loaded/maintained manually. I see that data is not put up in right tables.

Ex - Mobile data is sitting in Computer table.

Firewalls data is sitting in Server table etc.

Is there really a way to clean this up?

To my knowledge, its a tedious job and we need infrastructure team to identify and correct them.

I posted this question to see in case you came across this situation and how you handled.

Thanks in advance 🙂

My sincere request - please dont reply for the sake of replying/earning thumbs up..

Start from non prod envrioment. Best way is to clean up the data ( it will impact if the CI is been used in ITSM processes. Ask the Respective teams to give data in excel ( better way would be either using service graph connector or use custom integration. ) Once you get the data create a data source. USe that data source to create IH ETL. IH ETL loads data using IRE. Once one time load is done you can ask the respective team to maintain the data. Ask them to use CMDB workspace.
