Apart from reconciliation rules, is there any other way to restrict precedence of source of the data

Hi All,

I wanted to understand, is there any way to restrict precedence of source of data while updating any records in CMDB classes apart from Reconciliation rules?

Please do let me know if you have any further idea on this. Thank You!

Best Regards,
Ganesh

Hi @Ganeshm1

You can configure the order of precedence in the Data Sources table, especially when importing data. In some cases, you might have multiple data sources, and the system may need to determine which source to prioritize.

While ServiceNow doesn't directly allow you to set a "precedence" order in the data source, you can manage which data source gets processed first by controlling the import set's processing order.

May be Custom Business Rules or Script Includes can be created to manipulate how data from different sources is merged or which source should be considered the "master" for the data. You can use conditions within the business rule to check data from multiple sources and prioritize one over the other.

Hello @Ravi Gaurav
Thank you so much for your response.
With respect to import sets, I agree with you.

In my case, we are using Traditional Discovery and ACC as well.
Now we want to give make ACC  as precedence than discovery. Is there any way to achieve this apart from Reconciliation rules?

Hi @Ganeshm1 ,

Earlier we used to have a data precedence rule separately, now everything is combined with reconciliation.

I think that is the only way to set precedence.
