I’m an IT Admin trying to create a Backout Schedule for our ESX hosts based on downstream relationships.
We have two datacenters in our vCenter: App and DB. These relationships are visible under:
Relationships → Hosted on → VMware vCenter Datacenters → "App" or "DB"
My goal is to set up two Backout Schedules for ESX hosts under the App and DB datacenters.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- I created a report using the cmdb_rel_ci table with a filter:
Child.name is App
This successfully lists all ESX hosts under the App datacenter. - However, when configuring the Backout Schedule, the "Applies To" section does not include cmdb_rel_ci while keeping Source as CI Class.
Question:
How can I configure Backout Schedules for ESX hosts based on these vCenter datacenter relationships if cmdb_rel_ci is not available in the "Applies To" section?
Is there an alternative approach or workaround for this scenario?
