"This package required minimum OS version: Windows Server 12 or greater" is the error message I'm getting when I try to install the MID in Server on my laptop.

Hi @akashvarma85310 ,

MID Server system requires:

  • Windows
    • Windows Server 2012
    • Windows Server 2016
    • Windows Server 2019

ServiceNow no longer supports new installations of 32-bit MID Servers. Following OS is no more supported:

  • CentOS 6
  • Windows server 2008
  • Windows server 2008 R2
  • Windows 8
  • Windows 10

Refer to the doc : https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/washingtondc-servicenow-platform/page/product/mid-server/concept/...

Hi @akashvarma85310

discover Windows-based servers, run Service Mapping patterns, or execute Orchestration commands on Windows devices, the MID Server must be installed on a Windows server. The MID Server supports these Windows operating systems, including virtual machines and 64-bit systems:

  • Windows Server 2012
  • Windows Server 2016
  • Windows Server 2019
  • Windows Server 2022

First install a VM and install Windows Server above 2012.where you can install mid server.

According to the product documentation, "MID Servers can be manually installed to any operating system with the ZIP file, however Windows 10 is unsupported". Therefore, you should use one of the supported operating systems that are listed here.

Old post I know, but you can do this -- you just have to install it manually.

On the MID Server installation page, first follow the "Install a MID Server manually" section, and then "Configure Windows MID Server service credentials."

The docs page isn't clear on how to get the ZIP file, but you just have to click the checkbox at the bottom of the page.
