CMDB Health Required fields on the Computer table

Hi,

We are planning to define a few Required fields for the CMDB Health dashboard for the Computer table (cmdb_ci_computer).

 

Our intention is just to apply these for CIs within the computer table like desktops and laptops, and not on the extended tables. Is there is a way to do this?

As per my understanding, if you change any thing in parent class, it will impact child as well also the completeness run on all classes.

Hi @ayman_h ,

 

It will be good if you applied to related to that table only, you should not use the parent table, if applied on parent table, that can be applied to child table as well.

'Required' fields are considered based on the fields which are marked as mandatory in the dictionary for a CI class. So in order to set the 'Required' fields, you need to go to dictionary and then set the needed mandatory fields only on the specific tables for each CI class. But it is always recommended to limit the number of fields which are marked as mandatory (ideally only for unique or most important fields like serial number). Use 'Recommended' fields metric for tracking any additional fields which are good to have.
