CMDB instance_name not being populated

In the CMDB:

I am tasked with combining fields - name + u_instance = u_display_name, however I can see in the xml that there is an OOB instance_name field - which isn't being populated.

How would I have this "instance_name" field populated, so I can then combine the instance_name + name = u_display_name

I believe the 'Instance Name' field is available out-of-the-box in a few SAP/SQL-related CMDB tables. Could you please specify which tables you're planning to implement this requirement on?
