CMDB Training/Path

Hello! I am a new hire and was recommended for the CMDB in-person training. I see that the Administration Fundamentals course (SNAF) is a prerequisite and am currently working on it.

I have taken a look at the Career Journeys and Paths and am having trouble figuring out where CMDB fits. Would this be alongside CSA initiatives or is it more so an elective training for specialization? Hopefully my wording makes sense.

Hello @ReynaT

CMDB (Configuration Management Database) training can be considered both part of CSA (Certified System Administrator) initiatives and as specialized training depending on your career goals within ServiceNow.

  • CSA is the foundational, general track.
  • CMDB training can be part of specialization within configuration management and asset management, and it usually comes after CSA training as it builds on knowledge from the fundamentals.

Hope this helps!
