Creating a new transform map and upload 10 new CI’s to the CMDB

I have been given a task to create a new transform map and upload 10 new CIs to my CMDB. I have no idea where to start. Is there anyone who can guide me in the right direction on how to accomplish this? Thanks!

Go to Import Sets to start the import proocess. Once there, then you'll be able to create the transform map.

Once you import the data follow this document to create the transform map. You'll need to know the table your data will end up on.

1. Prepare Data: Create a file (Excel/CSV) with your CI data.

2. Load Data:

   • Go to System Import Sets > Load Data.
   • Upload your file as a new Data Source.

3. Create Transform Map:

   • Go to System Import Sets > Transform Maps.
   • Click New and name it, set the Target Table to cmdb_ci.
   • Map source fields to target fields.

4. Transform Data:

   • Go to System Import Sets > Import Set.
   • Find your data, click Transform, and select your transform map.

5. Verify CIs:

   • Go to Configuration > CIs to see the uploaded CIs in the CMDB.

Is this a one time or does it need to be done over and over again? If it's a one time task, when then a transform map and not just normalize data and do a excel upload?
