Uninstalling a MID Server on Windows
The MID Server runs as a standalone service. It can be removed easily to accommodate such tasks as redeploying the MID Server to another host system or changing the unique name of a MID Server when deploying multiple MID Servers.
Procedure: Uninstall OLD MID-server - Support and Troubleshooting (servicenow.com)
To uninstall a MID Server on Windows, complete the following steps.
- Stop the running MID Server service by running one of the following commands.
- (Windows) stop.bat
- (Linux) stop.sh
- Find where the old MID-Server is installed.
- Go to Run and type services.msc.
- Find the Service called "ServiceNow MID Server".
- Right-click on the service and click on the Properties tab.
- See the "Path to be executable".
That is the path where the Configuration files of MID-server are stored. See the following screenshot as an example:
Go to the MID-Server installed folder, take a backup of the agent and wrapper logs if needed.
- Go to the bin folder and double-click uninstall.bat.
- The service gets uninstalled and now you can delete the entire MID-Server folder.
MID Servers should not remain in Down status if its MID Server (ecc_agent) record is no longer valid.
Delete the Mid Servers Clusters:
- Go to MID server cluster list view.
- Select the Mid Server Cluster Name.
- Click on Delete.
Delete the Mid Server from the ecc_agent table:
- Go to ecc_agent list view.
- Select the Mid- Server which has status as “Down.”
- Click on Delete.
