Is it possible with Service Mapping capabilities - here is my understanding on this and response
Yes, but with caveats.
* Service Mapping is designed to discover and map infrastructure dependencies (servers, databases, middleware, APIs, etc.) that support a business service.
* It can detect traffic flows between application components (e.g., Web server → DB server).
* However, logical business-to-business application integrations (like Salesforce → SAP via middleware) are not always auto-discoverable, because
* Service Mapping relies on network traffic patterns, ports, protocols, and discovery patterns.
* SaaS apps (Salesforce, Workday, etc.) and remote integrations often don’t expose traffic in a way Discovery/
Service Mapping can detect.
* If the integration happens over detectable traffic (HTTP, JDBC, MQ, APIs running on infrastructure you can probe) → Service Mapping can discover and build relationships.
* If it’s SaaS-to-SaaS integration (cloud-to-cloud) → Service Mapping alone cannot establish the relationship automatically. You’ll need additional sources.
