How to create Data Refresh Rules for Stale CI's

• I want to configure Data Refresh Rules for in-scope classes to define when a CI turns stale for each discovery source, allowing the CI to be updated by a lower-priority authorized discovery source.
  
  How to create Data Refresh Rules ?
  On what basis we can identify Staleness of CI's?

Hi @Priyasharma1063 ,

Follow the below steps :

Firstly identify for which class you want to set the Data refresh rule and which source 

1. Navigate to All > Configuration > CI Class Manager.
2. Click Hierarchy to display the CI Classes list.
3. Select the class for which to create a data refresh rule.
4. In the class navigation bar, expand Class Info and then click Reconciliation Rules.
5. In the Data Refresh Rules section, click Add to create a rule or select an existing rule to edit.
6. The pop up will open asking for data source (mostly your case it will be discovery). and select the duration for staleness. and Save it.

Your done !

On what basis we can identify Staleness of CI's?

If CIs are not updated for x days then it will be moved to stale CI record. (OOTB i guess its 90days)

If the fields specified in the static reconciliation rule for the CI's class were not updated by the specified discovery source within the specified time period — the CI is determined to be stale for that discovery source.

I am really new in configuring CMDB .

I have a list of tables , while creating the Data Refresh rules what Discovery source should I select .
The Discovery source in data refresh rule will be same as the class Discovery source , is it?

Example : class: cmdb_ci_appl , Discovery source : ServiceNow While creating data refresh rule , shall I keep the same discovery source for this class?

YES , for discovery the data source will be 'servicenow'.
